Opera 9.0 Preview 1 is now available for download

Opera has impressed me lately. I’ve been switching back and forth between Opera 8.5 and Firefox. Opera is a lot more streamlined — It takes up less memory than Firefox, and renders pages much faster. As far as standards compliance goes, Opera beats Firefox hands down.

I’m happy to see that one of the top items on the IE team’s list is standards support, right behind improving security. Also, they finally added alpha channel support in PNG images! No more javascript workarounds… Until this thing is released, I recommend Firefox.
