The True Impact of Fiji Bottled Water
The production of one liter bottle of Fiji water uses much more water than the bottle contains. It also consumes almost one kilogram of fossil fuel, and emits over one pound of CO2. Add that to the fact that it’s no better (and could even be worse) than plain old city water (if you live in the United States). I personally prefer the “taste” of Detroit City Water vs. bottled water. Add the fact that city water is practically free — it boggles my mind that people purchase “premium” bottled water.

- Bottled water could be bad for you. The EPA has stricter standards for tap water than the FDA does for bottled water. Some bottled water would not even pass EPA tests for tap water.

Probably the only thing bottled water has over tap water is convenience and portability. I personally fill up a water bottle and take it to work every day.
