Intel Launches Core 2 Duo
My next computer will probably have a Core 2 Duo.
Intel celebrated a major milestone this week, officially closing the books on the Pentium era with its launch of the Core 2 Duo, the company’s most important product to come out in 13 years.
According to Paul Otellini, president and cheif executive of Intel,
The Core 2 Duo processors are simply the best processors in the world. Not since Intel introduced the Pentium processor has the industry seen the heart of the computer reinvented like this.
For a while now, AMD has had the crown for fastest processor. Intel reclaims the title with the all-new Core 2 Duo processor. Along with the new processors comes new pricing for the older models; some prices were reduced by 60%!
