The End User License Agreement on the rootkit infected CDs are almost as bad as the rootkit themselves! Here’s a roundup:
- You can’t keep your music on any computers at work.
- If you lose the original CD, you must delete all digital music on your computer.
- If your house is robbed, you must delete all music from your computer.
- If you move out of the country, you must delete all your music.
- If you declare bankruptcy, you must delete your music.
- You have no rights to transfer the music on your computer, even if you have the original CD.
- You have no rights to change, alter, or make derivative works at all.
There is already many class action lawsuits against Sony BMG. The EFF today joined in and filed their own class action lawsuit.
