How to live without the Music Industry
gHacks lists several alternatives to buying CDs from the “music industry”. My personal favorite is recording internet radio streams. Remember when you used to make mix tapes by recording songs off the radio? Streamripping allows you to do just that. Instead of sitting there with your finger on the record button, however, software does the job for you automatically. Each new song played will create a separate MP3 file. There are several online directories such as shoutcast.com and xiph.org. gHacks has a guide to streamripping. I also recommend a program called RipCast. It allows you to rip multiple streams at once!
