A look into the past

It’s amazing how much we take for granted how cheap computers are these days. Check out this 1989 ad for a Tandy 5000 “Micro Computer” Professional System. The free MP3 player I got for signing up with Comcast has more RAM than that $8,500 computer!

Compare that to the $69 PC through Earthlink: an AMD Sempron 2200+ based PC with 256 MB of RAM, a 40 GB hard drive and a 52x CD-ROM

    Jeff, Hard to believe in retrospect. FYI, maybe a thumbnail would be better on your blog, and linking it to a new page showing the ad. Currently, if your browser window is too small, the picture runs over into the right nav column.
