Server Issues (fixed)

I’ve been having problems with my web-server. For whatever reason, it just stops accepting connections to port 80. I suspect it’s either Apache crashing (the logs don’t show anything), or one of the various security applications thinking there’s a threat and shutting down that port. I was in the process of moving it to a different box, anyway. Now I have a better reason to expedite the process…

Update: I figured it out. It didn’t have anything to do with the actual server. I was using UPnP Forwarding. It apparently doesn’t work very well… Once I changed it to straight port range forwarding, everything went back to normal. Yay!

relying on upnp works great for user-initated applications.. not so great for serving. :)
